A weekend retreat, that's how! I'm headed out this morning to join 71 other quilters at Drift Creek Mennonite Church Camp for a weekend of sewing, laughing, sewing, and laughing. This camp is a bit remote, so we take our own bedding as well as clothes and projects. Adding to that is the fact that I'm teaching a class on Saturday morning so I had to include class samples and materials. Snacks to share, books to sell, tools for sewing... you get the idea.
Wait until you see how much I crammed into that one little project box!
Tiny little 3" stars just waiting to be sewn. These are so small I can fit 25 into that little box.
Leaders and enders in the form of 2" finished half-square triangles for this quilt pattern:
It is Scrap Sensation by Sarah Maxwell and Dolores Smith and appears in the Winter 2012/2013 issue of McCalls America Loves Scrap Quilts.
Next up is month four of a mystery block-of-the month through Something to Crow About in Springfield, Oregon. Can't wait to see how this looks when it grows up into a whole quilt!
Last but not least is a mystery provided by Trish Mayhew at camp. I've done as much pre-cutting as I can and am anxious to get started. Confession: after seeing this picture, I went back and cut out new background fabric for this project. I'm hoping I love it and will make another that is red/navy/gold with the background fabric shown below.
Woo hoo! Can't wait to see everyone. I'll let you know my progress when I return.
