A little of this, a little of that

When I'm busy trying to finish two new patterns per month, I sometimes forget to get out and have some fun. I'm fortunate to attend two retreats this spring and need projects to take with me, so I've been a cutting A LOT. (I save these little bits for friends in the guild who make dog beds. Not bad, 7" of trimmings!)

I've also been getting back into knitting and have finished five hats since Christmas. I love to knit socks, and wanted to try a new method so a little impromptu field trip to McMinnville was planned. The Oregon Knitting Co. is open for business and I found my tiny 9" circular needles and enough yarn for one pair of socks may have also come home with me.  Across from the yarn shop is a little fabric store I like to call "my happy place."

I've decided to knit hats for my brothers and male family members... maybe not ALL of them as I'm from a very large family... and went to Moreland today to pick up some yarn. I was raised in this area and thought it will add a special touch to their hats. If you get a chance, stop by and visit Yarntastic. It's a fabulous shop.

Back to cutting and sewing. I need to finish my round for a round robin quilt. Someday I'll be able to share pictures of quilts on this blog! :)
