I'm happy to report I've been able to sew over the last couple of days. Not quite as happy with the results, though! I'm working on a project for a local quilt store using a specific line of fabrics. I took this design to the shop owner and we agreed it looks great. I'm not as in love with the results now that it's off the paper and on the wall. Lucky for me, only the units are sewn together and I can contemplate a bit more before I commit. I thought maybe a wide purple binding (1-1/2") would help, but I'm considering replacing all of the blue with the purple shown on the left. I can always use a dark blue binding instead. Help!! What do you think?
P.S.: Did I mention I love these Cotton + Steel fabrics?
Today I'm linking up with Judy over at www.patchworktimes.com. Check out her blog to see what others have been sewing.
I'd keep the blue and use blue binding. It's a great design -- I had to study it to see how the blocks are made.
ReplyDeleteIt is a beautiful design and beautiful quilt!
ReplyDeleteI like the blue, too, and would use a blue binding. It is beautiful... a very interesting design.
ReplyDeleteThis is really a beautiful design and the colors are great. I agree that the dark blue or even the turquoise(?) would be great for the border.
ReplyDeleteYour design is fantastic. I like the blue with the dark blue binding. It's great.
ReplyDeleteThis is beautiful. What is the pattern? bjulovich@yahoo.com
ReplyDeleteThe top is great and I like the existing colors -- but not the purple border...I prefer the reddish/orange on the top.
ReplyDeleteOkay, so I'm late to the party, however I love the blue and I was wondering if the pattern was available for purchase. saleecash@hotmail.com
